One Million Experiments: Some Actions That Are Not Protesting or Voting
Use the 5 Calls website and app. 5 Calls has resources with information about who to call, why, and what to say. You can set a reminder in the app and it will prompt you on a regular schedule.
Use ResistBot, a chatbot that turns your texts into faxes, snail mail, or email and sends it straight to your representatives.
Plug in with organizations like MoveOn, Working Families Party, and 50501. They have regular days of virtual action, and will send our reminders for what to do, when to do it, and how.
Check Mobilize for local actions with other groups, and virtual actions you can join online!
Download “Red Cards” to carry with you. Ask local businesses and organizations if you can leave some there, give them to friends — spread the word. We have rights!
Run for something! We need more progressive leaders. Think you’re not cut out for it? You might be exactly who we need.
Bully your reps on social media. Does it move the needle? Eh, not really. It can raise awareness, but mostly it’s a great stress reliever! (Better yet, let’s ask the hard questions in person!)
