Real talk: This is exhausting. There is so much going on in the world, in this country, in our community, and in our personal lives.
And still. The reasons we should be protesting and disobeying this administration are too numerous to list.
If you’re waiting for someone to save us — they’re not coming. There’s no cavalry on the way. “Someone” has to be us.
The U.S. president is illegally abusing tariff powers to manipulate the stock market and enrich his corporate donors. On April 10, 2025, Donald Trump boasted about earning his allies over $3 billion from his recent tariff shenanigans.
This administration and its allies don’t care about your bills, your problems, or your wallet. Trump is a billionaire whose constituents pay $1 million for dinners with him.
Our civic duty doesn’t end at voting, because voting doesn’t solve all problems. The Founders enshrined our right to freedom of speech and assembly in the First Amendment for a reason.
Picture this. You’re walking home from work or school or the farmer’s market. ICE agents in plainclothes stop you and ask who you are. You tell them your proof of citizenship or legal residency is at home. They don’t believe you and so they detain you. Within days, you’ve been sent to a South American super prison without due process. Your family doesn’t know where you are.
Something like this happened to Kilmar Abrego Garcia, whom the US presidential administration claims without evidence is a violent gang member. Whoever Kilmar is, due process of law guarantees us the presumption of innocence until we are found guilty by a jury of our peers.
The courts have demanded Kilmar’s return. The administration has refused. This is a constitutional crisis and a threat to all of us.
They used propaganda against black Americans. They used propaganda against women. They used propaganda against gay Americans. Now they’re using propaganda against transgender Americans.
Attacking transgender participation in sports is not about protecting girls and young women. It’s about dehumanizing — and destroying — a group of people.
More and more each day, we see the destruction of this administration, and we know there is so much more happening than is known — or than any one person can keep up with.
ENOUGH. ENOUGH. ENOUGH.
April 19th is the 250th anniversary of the start of the American Revolution. We the people already said no to kings. We already said no to dictators.
Once again, it's time for all American patriots to stand up to tyranny. Apathy is not an option any more. What began in Boston and Lexington and Concord continues today. If we don't fight to keep our freedom, we may lose it forever. What do we say to all those who were maimed and killed to preserve our Constitution and our freedom? "I didn't feel like it"? "I was too busy"? Whatever you can do, whether it's protesting, or calling your elected representatives, or volunteering, the time to act is now! Everyday is Patriots Day!
